Behavior Modification

Behavior Modification isn’t easy. Some of the behaviors that dogs can exhibit can be intense and daunting, but you aren’t alone. We at The Dependable Canine have over a decade of proven behavioral modification success with a multitude of problematic behaviors. Our work history as well as continued education in this field, such as achieving the Family Dog Mediator certificate from Kim Brophey, make sure our methods are up to date and using the most recent science. The behaviors we include under our Behavior Modification programs are:

  • Reactivity
  • Dog to Dog Aggression
  • Resource Guarding
  • Confidence Building
  • Body Handling Comfortability
  • Overly Rowdy Behaviors (Mouthing, Jumping, etc)
  • Inability to Settle

How Does Our Program Work?

Step One: We begin with a free 30 minute evaluation in your home to meet and discuss the target behaviors, and to assess the environment and begin creating a behavior plan.

Step Two: We begin training each week for sessions lasting 45 minutes-to-an hour as each session builds off of the prior, continuing on a pace that works for you and your dog. This is billed at a monthly rate, price determined on Step One. More lessons can be added if needed. Sometimes we will recommend a Board and Train if we feel it would benefit your dog at the beginning for some behaviors.

Step Three: Continue training until target behaviors are at an acceptable level and you and your pup are satisfied!

If these are things you are struggling with your dog, it isn’t too late to begin reshaping your dog’s behaviors and creating a more positive experience for all involved. Fill out our Intake Form to get started today.
